Vision

History

Fire and Fragrance began as a ministry in 2008 in Kona, HI at the University of the Nations. The desire that birthed Fire and Fragrance was to see training that would emphasize the great commandment as a foundation to anointing in the second commandment. This was not to say that this did not exist already in many places. We just felt a burning in our heart that the massive streams of prayer and intimacy were flowing together into another massive stream of missions and evangelism and that God was raising up training models that would help impart this into a generation.

Fire and Fragrance as a name was birthed at the Tabernacle of the Nations, which is a small house of prayer located in the heart of Amsterdam’s red light district. We had met there for three days of prayer believing that God wanted to speak to us about the role of worship and prayer in reaching the hardest and darkest places of the Earth. One night, while walking back from the house of prayer, I found myself beginning to sing to a generation to “rise up”, knowing in my heart that revival was only possible when a generation would get so addicted to the first commandment that power, love and fruitfulness would naturally be released. As natural as a branch that abides in the vine bears much fruit. As I sang, I began to prophecy,

“Rise up burning ones! Rise up burning ones! Fire and Fragrance, permeating, the atmosphere is changing!”

Even as I sang, I realized that extravagant worship and contending intercession all birthed from the intimate heart were the key to putting fire back on the hearth of the hearts of a whole generation. From this fire a fragrance would be released that would become the very fragrance of Christ to the lost, the least, the hardest and the darkest. And Fire and Fragrance was born.

Vision

Our vision is simple. We desire to train, raise up and release an army of lovers who will live the first commandment with total abandonment and walk in anointing and power in the second commandment. We believe in Jesus reviving hearts and nations. Revival is a reality, it is already happening in many places and will sweep the globe bringing in the largest harvest in human history! Unto this end we labor. That the lost would be saved, the saved would live be revived and all would be trained to multiply the kingdom of God.  We believe the primary strategy God has given us in this is the raising up and launching of:

Intentional Communities, Centered around the Presence of God, Leading to Revival and Reformation.

We see hundreds and even thousands of communities/families planted around the world. All of them living with a great devotion to Jesus through prayer, worship, the Word and contending intercession. From this presence centered lifestyle we believe for revival and reformation. All aims towards His glory and His eventual return!
